Holdems lion being sentient is strange. In the past we’ve only seen objects that absorb devil fruits (Vegapunks method) gain consciousness (Funkfreed, Lasso). So does this mean rather than Holdem transforming into a smile lion man like the other smile users we’ve seen, his stomach somehow absorbed the lion fruit and acts separately from him.
