  1. Cervantes, aside from “El Quijote”, also wrote a book called “El cerco de Numancia” (referenced by Doflamingo’s ship). Thought it’d be a nice detail worth pointing out. Great job man, keep it up!

  4. Based on Giolla’s beta design and her “motherly” tendencies, my theory is that she once had a child before but lost it somewhere in her travels with the Donquixote pirates (whether due to fully embracing the pirate life or by her lover wanting to keep the child from a criminal). This would later hit her hard and she would impart that to the youngest of the crew. Assuming she was a part of the DQ pirates before Dellinger came around (him being 16 post timeskip), and assuming her current age is 71 (based on the wiki, I forgot where Oda revealed her age in), she would have been 43-45 around that time (45 was the earliest we saw her being a part of the DQ family). She being an artist both now and in her child age (Oda’s depiction of her anyway), I would like to assume her child would also be an artist; which comes to my hypothesis that her child, and the only other artist we know of who is around 16-18 years old is…
