Eiichiro Oda changes editors again, Takano is the new editor for One Piece

As revealed in a recent livestream by the editorial staff on the official One Piece channel, Oda is going to have a new switch in editors. Sugita, the current Media and PR editor, is going to step down from his position, with Naito (the current manga editor since 2017) taking his place as the new Media and PR editor.

Having served as the editor of One Piece from June 2014 to January 2017, he then changed to Media and PR editor in 2017, with Naito becoming the new editor for the manga. Now, he fully steps down from the editorial team after 5 years of work, with Naito also stepping down from his position as manga editor to be in charge of Media and PR, just like Sugita did back in 2017.

Naito himself will be replaced  by the new manga editor, the 27 year old Takano! He’ll be in charge of helping Oda write the story from now on, so here’s hoping that he does a great job! After Sugita and Naito, he is the 10th editor of One Piece and Oda’s 11th editor since joining Jump.
