Chapter Secrets – CHAPTER 1000 IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS (explaining Luffy’s Dream!)

So we finally got here. To the big Chapter 1000. And this also marks my 200th analysis after over 5 years of sharing my findings of this manga with all of you. I have no words to express my gratitude. However, there is something special I’d like to share with you. Many of you have already seen this, but for any of you who might’ve not, I made a special video with so many other members of the community to celebrate Oda together. I hope you can give it a watch:

And with that, let us finally begin! Chapter 1000 of One Piece!!!

For this next part, I recommend playing this music:

Thank you Oda for 1000 chapters of One Piece and thank YOU for coming back every week to check my analysis of the chapter!! Let’s keep heading onward to the ends of the sea!

  1. Artur, I wasn’t hooked on this party idea, it really sounded ridiculous but the more I read the theory, the more it makes sense. And of course, I would have that reaction but you convinced me 100% when you ended it with the title of 999 & 1000. I got chills reading it. I believe in this theory wholeheartedly now. Thanks for the analysis!

  2. I am genuinely moved by your analysis. I am glad to live in the same time as one piece but i am also glad that i can do it with people like you. I have met so many amazing people in this journey and i hope we can all share some drinks one day. Amazing job as always

  3. Damn son, you just might be right. That is just the kind of apparently simple turnaround Oda is known for.
And great kudos for all your work on this blog over the years. You probably could make all this writing into a master thesis or something.

  4. Oh man, this was spectacular!!! So moved by your analysis!!! It makes perfect sense!!!! Also i imagine that Roger read something like that in Laugh Tale, maybe Joy Boy wrote something like at the end we can party like one tribe. Also i imagine the whole world celebrating the fall of the world government in the greater party ever made.

  9. I believe that what Luffy stated is something childish like “World Peace”, which for Luffy means to make everyone equal to each other. No Kings, no Rulers, no high class and no people starving. Something like to be the freest man, something we’ve seen trying to do in every arc, in every island he goes, he fights for that.

Also on a note, it’s great that Oda didn’t make Yamato say to Ace that Luffy uttered the same words that Roger, his father which he despised, said. Stacks great with the story we know so far.

    • I asume you are greek. I read chapter 967 where shyarley makes a prophesy about a carp marrying in the royal family. Otohime is a goldfish mermaid. Maybe Kaidou will marry shirahoshi? I just comment this everywhere because I think that maybe important.

  10. The party idea was one I thought of immediately after the comment Oda made about no killing characters, because it might ruin the party scene at the end of the arc. He loves to draw those. He doesn’t kill characters for dramatics, he does it when it is instrumental to the story. Because someone’s death might make the party tone death. Which is why there is no party at the end of WCI.

This breakdown confirms it for me. And the last breakdown section with Yamato makes this even more natural and beautiful…. Yamato is 10000% joining

I have been reading One Piece on a weekly basis for over a decade now. I was in college then, and now this year I will be turning 30.

I first discovered this website during the Whole Cake Island arc, as the guides and info for the all the different Big Mom children were extremely helpful for me as a reader.

Artur, your input and work for the One Piece community has been indispensable over the past few years. Thank you so much.

And I believe you hit the nail on the head with Luffy’s dream. Making friends…it’s what One Piece has always been about.

Best of luck to you and this site. I look forward coming here after each chapter.

    Brilliant thinking artur.
Your art and writing skill really bought to my mind ever since the first time i start readed, is like so many years ago .

And your idea about the final dream of liffy, i kind a like it, plus sound more logic.
Just feel incomplete, that u not include the part of luffy being angry to the kuja pirate crew, when they all been eating without any celebrating of party what so ever.
If u do include this, i think your steatment will be much more strong and of cos excited to read….😁

    • I do truly love the party idea and I’d like to sew it onto my theory of Luffy wanting to bust a huge hole in the red line (most likely where mariejois is) in order to further unite all the world into ONE PIECE^^ that being said, I also appreciate how his fleet is essentially bringing the party dream into fruition!

  15. Artur, I was wondering is there any connection of the sake exchange (AKA party) with bink’s sake? In bink’s sake, the story goes as to pirates who adventured across the seas to deliver bink’s sake (AKA exchanging sake??) So does bink’s sake have a prominent value for the ending of one piece?? Because I feel that Oda won’t put so much effort into creating a pirate song with full lyrics and chords just for nothing, I really feel that the song will be important to the future, so is the song’s importance is about it’s connection to the goal of the pirate king(s)?? Especially that the Bink’s sake song is about pirates, so…!

  16. i mean if you think about it one piece can also be pronounced as one peace and thus this one big party creates one peace

or that’s just me punning too hard lol

    • oda already stated that one piece is not a thing like it is in your heart.. lol.. if you read sbs he actually said that it is a treasure.. he said that with all these years it would not be appropriate to just say that at the end of their journey the one piece is something intangible. at least it is a reward.

  18. Hey Arthur great work as always and happy new year!
I had the same idea about the party the first time about a year ago, and then Oden’s flashback confirmed my suspicions. Another clue is how afraid was Luffy to be lonely when he met Ace, and I think that his dream has to do with having friends/having parties.

    Here’s proof 🙂

  20. First-time commenter, but the party theory seems totally legit! It made me think of that SBS where Oda said Luffy’s hobbies were adventuring and partying- it would be so like Oda to hint at his dream there! Keep up the great work, I love reading these every week and I’m always blown away by the effort you put in!

  21. Thank you Arthur for your weekly insights! You make me love One Piece even more as I tend to overlook all those small details and japanese translations/traditions that I think is what make this manga a real masterpiece.

I’ve been reading One Piece for 15 years and now more than ever I enjoy it at its fullest. First thanks to Jaiminis’ Box that included the original japanese terms and explained them, which brought to me a whole new perspective (I almost died when they shut down) and after that is that I found this awesome website containing everything I needed to understand One Piece! So many thanks.

    I have 2 small comments:

The first is that Ace was never intended to be the new Joy Boy. The moment Ace died Luffy was already headed to be the Pirate King. Ace is just another piece in Luffy’s destiny to be the freest man on the world.

The second part, I think that the big party could be one of Luffy’s dream, that’s a given. I think that the story of One Piece is a one that allows you to dream and keep dreaming in a never ending path. With that in mind, I think Luffy will find the treasure and hide it again for other people to go looking for it (that’s the childish part, not taking the treasure as anyone would expect, but rather play the hide and seek with it for the next generations). The same way Roger told everybody to go and look for it more than 20 years ago (I don’t know how many years have passed in the storyline after we started this journey).

So that’s all, again thank you for your weekly comments and insights. You make my life reading One Piece even better, I’m glad to be able to read this weekly.

  22. Oden also said something along the lines of “mine will be a tale to accompany cups of sake” which works nicely with the theory considering he would know the truth behind Roger’s end goal (Luffy’s being the same).

That music worked wonders, ended perfectly when I finished reading, the epicness was to much to handle and overflew through tears.

  23. I also believe partying with the whole world is luffy and roger’s dream.

But it isn’t what one piece is!

And also, that being the pirate king is just a means for Luffy to be able to launch his dream – to party with everyone!

I believe, one-piece, being pirate king and Luffy’s dreams are 3 separate things. Which will be the endgame for this beautiful series…

This ending would make One Piece seem childish to non-fans, but we all know how deep and political everything in one piece is. Such a masterpiece!

Thank you for being a part of this whole journey.

    • That’s been the main theory for 10 years now haha, but if you arrived to that on your own that’s pretty impressive man

But it’s not just blowing a hole, the theory is destroying the red line entirely
Fulfilling the prophecy of destroying fishman island (by crushing it, but they would mass exodus to the surface)
Making all blue, uniting the world and being the opposition to the WG’s logo of the 4 blues separate from the grand line

It’s too likely not to be cruising the edge of what will happen

  25. One piece is a type of drink/food/anything party-related that needs time to mature/cooked. That is why Roger said they are too early. Maybe specifically it is written “the drink inside this bottle will be ready in 20 years”, that is why everything seems to be related with 20 years (Oden diary, Toki, etc (I am a casual read, so I do not remember the detail)). So, it is connected to your theory, that the food/drink is needed to have the party with everyone in the world.

Nami’s dream (map) will be needed so everyone can come to Laugh Tale from their home

For the other, I am not sure because I do not remember the detail lol
