Some days (or weeks) ago, the One Piece Magazine released and while I’ve talked about its relevant information on my twitter, I thought I’d present it all here on the Library for the sake of archiving it!
For those asking about information on the 7th Magazine Volume, the issue is that most of it was centered around Stampede and as such, there really isn’t that much new in terms of completely unique canon information, if anything at all.
Anyway, onto the Magazine! One of the first things shown is the canonical form of two devil fruits, showing how the fruits themselves look within the actual story!
First up, the fruit Brook ate, the Yomi Yomi no Mi!
And second, the fruit Moria ate, the Kage Kage no Mi!
Next, a colored Cover Request, in this case one of Chopper and Hiriluk having a hanami together (Japanese festivity of doing a pic-nic under sakura trees). Oda decided to add in Kureha as well:
After that is a gallery of sketches for some of the supernovas’ post-timeskip designs:
In Law’s file there’s this particular sketch that is somewhat interesting:
It’s an original sketch for this scene above, where it shows that, instead of Law subconsciously wishing to take Doflamingo down by himself and that leading him to follow with his actions, it seems it was originally meant to be a fully conscious part of his plan from the very beginning. In particular, Sanji asks “what are you planning?” and Law simply replies with “You’re sharp, aren’t you…”
As well as sketches for Blackbeard too!
But what is more interesting is some sketches regarding… Blackbeard’s mom and two little sisters??? Yes, Oda shares some concept art of an idea he had about Blackbeard’s relatives. With all that said, they aren’t canon so far, they are treated like scrapped ideas, but it is entirely possible that they could be reused in the future as actual characters, just like Oda has done in the past with others, it’s just that at the moment, they aren’t part of the story
In regards to Teach’s little sisters, they are described as being polite and kind. In his sketches, Oda drew a shocked Ace reacting to them, implying this might’ve been a scene he had in mind at some point.
We then have a cross-section in regards to Big Father, allowing us to get a better understanding at how this enormous fortress looks inside! It’s revealed to be 80m tall and to weigh 595 tons!!
And finally is a series of demographic popularity polls, which asked people of Japan what their favorite characters, arcs and quotes from the series were! Here are all the results listed below! (apologies for the blurriness of the pictures, but the original images were already this blurry)
And finally, favorite quotes:
Are you satisfied with these results? Or are you dissatisfied? Well, you can cast your own votes here to say what your favorites are!
Check back in a couple days or so to see what the results are!
Those sisters?? in the Teach drawings gonna be heartbreaking isn’t it…
I wadda live! Lol It seems the people went from Luffy/Chopper to Zoro/Luffy and again back to Luffy/Chopper (I know what you did there on 3 and 4 50yo (0.0). I really adore Emporio Iv quote: “Miracles only occure for those with the determination to never stop trying!”
omg i am crying when i read the favorites quotes section, its just like i hear the voice itself in my head, and the flashback is coming, the OP journey is too much. thx Oda for creating this
My favorite quote in the series isn’t even in the list. It’s what Zoro says when he offers his own life to Kuma in exchange for Luffy’s life. He says: “If I can’t even help my captain achieve his dream, then my own dream is nothing but talk”.
ufff… i´m voting and the merry one is so emotive…
It´s difficult to pick only one
I´m almost 30 but i have a lot in common with the 40-49 yo results xD sad that Thriller bark is not on top 5, i know that it does not have a lot of lore but is soooo much fun 😦 Zoro vs Kuma? Big emperor 6? 600 Million Berry Jackpot? Oda was having a lot of fun there and i love when he do that, this got very serious, i know that we are close to the end but i want something like that again…
My favorite quote is one that appears right before they arrive at Jaya, where a huge ship falls down from the skies.
“Whatever man could possibly imagine is a possibility in reality.”
I think it resonates a lot with One Piece, and how extraordinary Oda is as its creator.
I’m sure asking for top 5 characters/moment/etc would be better representing the community. I suspect it’s beyond top 3 where the votes really deviate. We could see a lot more characters on the list so it would be more accurate. For example my case. Having Zoro as the top1 probably doesn’t change the outcome that much. But having Whitebeard and Katakuri in top5 is kind of interesting. Whitebeard probably won’t even end up being in the end result, but I’m sure some people have him in their top5 list.
Where is my Zou Arc !?!?!?!
Oookkk i’ll accept that…
Wasn’t there other information like a chart and the Heroines novel? I’d like to know more about those.
Sorry but Hancock should be rated much higher. Nami and Robin aren’t even on the same lvl as Hancock in abilities and strength alone. XD
